5.12 Credit History

  • A credit bureau report must be obtained on all individual borrowers, guarantors, and any related companies; and should be clear of any prior defaults, writs, judgements or bankruptcy. Any adverse findings on either the borrower's credit bureau report and/or loan statements must be supported by a written explanation signed by the borrower
  • Genworth expects Lenders to complete an investigation into all enquiries within the last 12 months and compare them against Assets & Liabilities on the loan application. Unmatched credit enquiries require an explanation with the LMI submission, setting out the purpose and outcome
  • All credit reports, including possible matches and cross referenced files should also be investigated
  • Credit reports are to be validated with applicants' identification details.
