Genworth’s sponsorship of Frank Abagnale, one of the world's most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents, stole the show!
Frank Abagnale’s life story was made famous in the movie “Catch Me If You Can”, staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. Today, Frank has worked with hundreds of financial institutions, corporations and law enforcement agencies with fraud prevention.
To complement the sponsorship, Genworth’s conference promotion centred on the “Catch Me If You Can” theme. The exhibition stand was recreated to be an airport check-in lounge and the team dressed as aircrew. Those who visited the stand received aviator sunglasses as giveaways and entered the online fraud quiz going into the draw to win a trip for two to Thailand.
Frank Abagnale was also the closing keynote speaker at the MFAA. Frank spoke about his early years committing fraud and how he transformed into a man focused on dedicating his life to fraud prevention. He also gave his opinion on the movie (which according to Frank is very accurate) and spoke of the importance of family values in assisting with crime prevention. Frank’s impact on the crowd was clear when he received the only standing ovation of the conference.
