Genworth in the Community
At Genworth, we are committed to championing corporate citizenship for the benefit of the community we work, live and play in. Our corporate values and the passion of our employees enable us to deliver on our commitment to support and nurture our community and reach out to those in need.
We believe our community program should be more than just a token gesture; we target our programs to make a real impact. Our partnership with United Way has enabled us to do this through sponsorship of local charities at a grassroots level who reflect our corporate values and provide essential services to those who are disadvantaged and/or disabled. Our Genworth volunteers program also demonstrates the passion of our employees to reach out, give back to the community and have fun!
United Way
Established for over 120 years, United Way is a non-profit organisation that works with business and the community, bringing them together to support worthy and relevant community projects. Through United Way, Genworth has established several local community partnerships, helping families and individuals in need in Australia and New Zealand.
Assistance Dogs Australia
Assistance Dogs Australia sources, trains and maintains dogs in community settings to assist people with their disabilities, to give them more confidence and to help them achieve a greater level of independence. To date, Genworth has provided sponsorship to three dogs, Genworth-named Wanda, Rocky and Gidget, throughout their two-year training period, as well as through financial support towards the organisation's facilities and services.
The Forsight Foundation
The Forsight Foundation provides accommodation, support and training for adults who are deaf/blind with multiple disabilities. Genworth and the Forsight Foundation have partnered together to provide a comfortable living environment for Forsight's deaf/blind residents through financial support and the Genworth volunteers program. The Genworth volunteers program has helped build and renovate Forsight resident homes to increase the quality of independent living for its residents.
The Lighthouse Foundation
Based in Melbourne, The Lighthouse Foundation provides a family home to disconnected young people, who have usually suffered significant trauma and disadvantage, and who otherwise would be homeless. Genworth supports the Foundation's aim to offer young people a feeling of security and belonging through each Lighthouse home, as well as providing them the support and resources to lead an independent life.
